And so we begin...

Hi there folks!
This is a new project for me. Sure I want to share some of my favorite things to do in Marin (and the surrounding Bay Area...we can even say a radius of a 4 hour drive, because part of the joy of Marin is that it is a hub to soooo many great places to visit like Tahoe and Monterey...and the Wine Country!), but I also want to learn what other people love to do around here. Do you like to go to Giants/A's or 49er/Raider games? What's your favorite beach around here? What are some of your favorite restaurants? What's your favorite vineyard to go tasting at? Got a great place to take the kids on a hot day?...a rainy day? Got a great trail for mountain biking? I want to hear about them all! I also want to know the address and website if possible for any of the places you post because I would like to go visit as many as possible in person and take some pictures/video so I can post maps/directions etc. to make it easy for people to experience these places too.

There are a few reasons I am doing this...
1) I'm always looking for fun new ways to spend the weekend with my family...and sometimes I need help coming up with ideas.
2) As a Realtor, I always have people moving here to Marin from outside of the Bay Area, and they always want to know what the best things to do around here are. I'd like for this to be a one stop place for them to come for ideas.
3) I was born and raised here in Novato, and I love Marin dearly...I've traveled the world and still find this to be one of the greatest places to visit or live, wonderful weather, beautiful landmarks, gorgeous vistas, splendid places to eat, fun places to play, and a great sense of community...like I said...I love this place!

So please, jump right in, and comment and let me know...WHERE AM I HEADED TO NEXT?
I will also link this to Twitter and Facebook so you can follow the adventures from wherever is convenient.
See you out and about Marin!
Kurt

  1. One of my favorite places in Marin to visit has always been the Marin Headlands. It has the most incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge and SF...fog permitting lol. There are great areas to hike for all levels of hikers. The old ramparts are fun to explore. The ocean breeze is great to enjoy if it is a hot day further inland. You can watch barges and ships roll in and out on the waves...and even have a chance at spotting some wildlife. So there it is, my first idea for someplace to go, take some pics and video...come on everyone, your idea could be my next trip =]
